In Honor of Those That Came Before Us...

Captain  H. Douglas Porter

Picture
A five year veteran of with Sni Valley Fire  Protection District. Captain Doug Porter was killed in a motor vehicle accident Tuesday, May 28th, 1996.  Captain Porter had completed his shift and was on his way home when the pickup truck he was driving was struck at a hill crest by a truck that had crossed the center line.  Due to the impact, we believe Doug was killed instantly.  His crushed pickup ended up on it’s side when the gas tank erupted.  A fellow firefighter and friend drove up on the accident.  His valiant efforts to extinguish the fire and recover the body was unsuccessful.

Doug was survived by his wife of three and half years and their 3 year old son, Austin McGyver.
