Burn Permit Applications & General Open Burning Information

Modified Burn Permit Application Process
Effective March 18, 2020

At the current time, burn permits can be completed in person or via email.  Please complete the application and then email the completed form to burnpermits@snivalleyfire.org.

It is permissible to scan the completed burn permit and attach it to an email.  It is also permissible to take a photo of the completed burn permit application and attach that photo to an email (the photo must be clear).  Throughout the day, the on duty crew will check the email account and call you with approval of the permit and your permit number.  Please give ample time to allow crews to check the email address provided above.  Remember that the on duty crew may be on emergency calls or doing other necessary tasks to serve the patrons of our district.

Sni Valley uses several burn permit applications to apply towards the intended type of burning.  There is a burn permit application for the residents of Oak Grove (the City of Oak Grove has an ordinance for open burning and the ordinance details can be found below), there is a burn permit application for City of Oak Grove Commercial Land Clearing, and there is a burn permit application for our patrons that live in the unincorporated/rural areas of our district.  PLEASE fill out the appropriate application  found below.

In addition, please remember that all rules and regulations apply to open burning.  Those rules can be found below and on the burn permit application.

Many of the restriction on burning are set forth by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources where public safety, life safety, and your safety is priority. We realize that in past times that open burning has gone unchecked and had been allowed without the use of permits, but now LAWS have changed.

Recreational burning and special permits may be granted after an evaluation of the burn site, weather conditions, and fire danger ratings.

Thank you for your understanding!
