Sni Valley Fire Protection District provides both fire department services and emergency medical services (EMS) to its residents of Eastern Jackson and Western Lafayette Counties of Missouri. The District serves the City of Oak Grove, Bates City, parts of Grain Valley, and the surrounding unincorporated areas. Sni Valley Fire covers approximately 78 square miles out of two fire stations. Station 1 (Headquarters) is located in Oak Grove and Station 2 is located in Bates City. Between the two stations, crews respond to approximately 2000 calls a year.
Sni Valley operates on a "Berkley" schedule to provide constant 24 hour emergency response to our community. Each shift consists of nine personnel. The Berkley Schedule consists of: 24 hours on (7 a.m. to 7 a.m.), 24 hours off, 24 hours on (7 a.m. to 7 a.m.), 24 hours off, 24 hours on (7 a.m. to 7 a.m.), four days off. Then the schedule repeats.
Crews are expected to train and sharpen their skills to prepare for an emergency. Training is completed through classroom settings, hands-on training and web-based training.
Western border to the 25 Mile Marker of I-70. Eastern border to the 33 Mile Marker of I-70. Northern border to Truman Road. Southern border to Cline Road.
